THE TODI CHALLENGER CELEBRATES ITS SEVENTH EDITION TABERNER RETURNS TO UMBRIA, WITH TRAVAGLIA AND CECCHINATO DAVIS CUP IN THE CITY ON AUGUST 9TH AND 10TH Todi, July 22, 2025 – The Internazionali di Tennis Città di Todi | CERgo Tennis Cup is ready to restart with its seventeenth edition. The Tennis Club Todi 1971 will open its doors from August 10th to 16th for the Challenger 75 tournament, one of Italy's longest-running events. Following the participation of players of the caliber of Carlos Alcaraz and Luciano Darderi in previous years, the 2024 event saw the first victories in the category from the young talent Pierluigi Basile, while the presence of reigning champion Carlos Taberner is confirmed for this year. The presentation press conference will be held on August 9th at 10:30 a.m., with a special guest: the Davis Cup will be on display with free admission in the Sala Vetrata dei Portici Comunali, as part of the Trophy Tour organized by the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation. The Tennis Club Todi 1971 gets a new look – This year, more than ever, the appearance of the Tennis Club Todi 1971 will be different to the many fans who will flock to watch the tournament. In an evening with a splendid crowd, capable of filling the stands of the Central Court of the Tennis Club Todi 1971, the Spanish tennis player defeated Santiago Rodriguez Taverna 6-4 6-3. The Challenger 75 organized by MEF Tennis Events is the seventh title in the category for the former ATP number 85 out of eleven finals played. In the doubles, the title went to Ivan and Matej Sabanov, capable of beating Filip Bergevi and Mick Veldheer 6-4 7-6(3). Taberner plays the seventh symphony in Todi – Carlos Taberner has done it. The former ATP No. 85 lifted the seventh Challenger trophy of his career in Umbria, after defeating Santiago Rodriguez Taverna 6-4, 6-3. “It was a week full of very long matches,” the 1997-born Valencian said with satisfaction. “Today I managed to win in straight sets, even though Santiago showed great quality on the court as always. I'm happy because I showed I'm still in excellent physical and mental condition.
